The Moama Soundshell precinct is a well used community facility with an aging playground. MRC approached THLA to design a new play area incorporated with the popular skate park in adjacent bushland with a nature play theme.
The playground design incorporates some of-the-shelf play items as well as proposing some custom nature play items. The council suggested the use of large logs stockpiled from the recent bushland clearing for the new Echuca-Moama bridge. THLA developed a concept for a network of large upright logs connected by a variety of rope play and other feature items including scramble nets, tunnels, slides and a firemans pole.
Other playground features include a nest tower, nest swing, climbing logs, a mound slide with custom ‘eagles nest’ viewing platform, a 4-way seesaw and sand maze with birds of the region sculptures. A new shelter, seating, drinking fountain and understorey planting is also proposed.
