Edenhope Township Entry Sign

Collaboration
In addition to the Edenhope town centre streetscape plans, our brief also included preparing a concept for the entry sign.
Edenhope, located on the southern shore of Lake Wallace in the west Wimmera region is home to Australia’s largest native waterbird, the Brolga. Our design is inspired by the Brolga’s dance routine and the colours of the lake. The design ties in well with the current logo of the shire, which is also replicated in the town's street furniture.
The design included an insitu concrete wall with blue, grey, white mosaic tiles to represent the colours and the reflections on Lake Wallace. Wavy stainless-steel strips of varying widths represent ripples on water. Life-size laser cut stainless steel Brolgas with high quality paint finish are fixed to the ripples to showcase the unique behaviour patterns of these water birds. Stainless steel or painted PVC lettering on the mosaic wall is clear and welcoming. The overall colour and material palette captures the essence of the township and the signage concept has received positive feedback from the community.
