Working in association with Odin360, our brief from the Indigo Shire Council was to develop caravan park masterplans for Rutherglen, Beechworth, Yackandandah and Chiltern that will improve the overnight visitor offering, visitor experience and park profitability within each town.
Masterplans were developed, following extensive site analysis and consultation with Council Officers, the caravan park managers and DELWP for the following caravan parks:
• Lake Anderson (Chiltern)
• Lake Sambell (Beechworth)
• Rutherglen
• Yackandandah
Analysis of the existing conditions at each caravan park, current and proposed attractions in the town, local tourism focus and confirmed target customers formed the basis of our designs. We considered how to create a unique ambience at each park and what new facilities and accommodation is needed to meet visitor expectations. Our masterplans for each park were based on a 10 year investment timeframe and considered future development including a range of accommodation options, new roads, services, camp kitchens, amenities, play spaces and landscaping.
