Nhill is a town in the Wimmera region of western Victoria, located approximately halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne. It is becoming an increasingly popular stopover destination for travellers, with visitors drawn to the Silo Art Trail, the Salt Lake, expansive open landscapes, and surrounding desert environments. With growing demand for accommodation at the local caravan park, Hindmarsh Shire sought to redevelop the existing Nhill Caravan Park to attract more visitors and enhance the overall tourism experience.
We worked closely with Council development officers, holiday park consultants, and caravan park operators to review the existing facilities and services at the park. Our concept plans addressed the needs of park users while identifying opportunities for improvement and future development.
The layout and facilities of the park were redesigned to accommodate a range of accommodation types, including cabins, tent sites, powered sites, and en-suite sites. The design incorporated a new amenities block and camp kitchen, upgrades and reconfiguration of the playground to improve safety, enhanced accessibility across caravan and camping areas, and the integration of improved emergency management measures. Collectively, these upgrades improve safety, accessibility, and overall amenity for caravan park users and the broader community.
