We were engaged by City of Ballarat to prepare the landscape design documentation for Redan wetland and surrounding escarpments. Our design aims to improve water quality, enhance ecological and biodiversity values, and support the long-term functionality of the wetland system, while reducing ongoing maintenance requirements through targeted revegetation and stabilisation.
The scope includes the preparation of zone-based planting plans, together with planting specifications and establishment methods, weed control and management guidelines, and erosion and bank stabilisation recommendations. A cost estimate and Bill of Quantities have also been prepared to support the tendering process.
The design incorporates extensive indigenous riparian and terrestrial revegetation to strengthen ecological function and habitat value. Weed control and management recommendations have been refined, including the targeted removal of invasive Ash and selected Oak regeneration along the drainage line.
