Barmah Lakes Campgrounds
Thomson Hay Landscape Architects were engaged by Parks Victoria to prepare detailed site plans for the redevelopment of the day visitor area / boat ramp and campground at the Barmah Lakes camping and day visitor areas within the Barmah National Park.

- pedestrian and vehicle access and management within the environmentally sensitive flood plain and River Red Gum forest of the Murray River
- defined camping zones
- restriction of camping / picnicking to designated areas including controlled overflow use during busy periods
- facility design and siting to minimise impacts during the regular flooding of the site associated with environmental flows that are vital to supporting the river’s ecological processes
- facility design and siting to minimise activity around the older River Red Gums
