It is refreshing to see the landscape come to life after the rain! These
constructed wetlands at Stonehill Estate in Bacchus Marsh were ringing with frog calls on a site visit this morning. I'm no frog expert, but they sound like Common Froglet and Poddlebonk. We have seen many birds at this site including a swooping Magpie.
The pond was planted in 2014 and the series of ponds will eventually extend down the gully to Werribee River.

Congratulations to Stephanie Yang Su of the Deakin University Planning and Landscape Architecture program for winning the Thomson Hay Landscape Architects Regional Landscape Award at the recent A + B awards for her project titled 'Healing the Scar of the Landscape - Post Mining Landscape in Anglesea'.
