Hepburn Regional Park Pedestrian Bridge
As a result of the serious flood events experienced throughout central Victoria in September 2010 and January 2011, Parks Victoria had to replace a number of strategic pedestrian bridges within the Hepburn Regional Park.
Pedestrian crossings in the form of galvanised steel and timber pedestrian bridges and stone crossings were designed and documented along the Wombat and Sailors Creeks to again provide safe pedestrian access along the Goldfields and Tipperary Walking Tracks.
Design sensitivities were required to minimise potential park damage during construction and ensure the materials selection and bridge design met Parks Victoria’s standards and ultimately enhance the natural setting of the site.
