Winter Valley Rise

Challenge
Winter Valley Rise is a 359 lot greenfield development in the Ballarat West Growth Corridor, 15 minutes drive from the Ballarat CBD. The developer’s vision is to create a vibrant community designed around a well balanced lifestyle.
The reserve includes a large scale wetland to capture and treat stormwater runoff from this and surrounding developments.

Solution

We have created tree lined streetscapes that link seamlessly to the expansive open space reserve. The reserve provides opportunities for active and passive recreation, with children’s playspace, shelter and picnic, ball court, walking paths and ovals. The wetland is designed to be a functional and aesthetic component of the reserve. We have selected trees and wetland planting to suit local conditions, increase biodiversity and attract birds and wildlife to the area.

Results
The site is under construction, the first stage of the wetland will be planted in coming months and future stages of the wetland and reserve will be added as the development progresses.
